Lots of DIY gifts today

Today I DIY-ed some lemon sugar scrub, brown sugar scrub, cinnamon/nutmeg/honey/lemon face mask, and liquid hand soap.
I will let you know tomorrow how the soap turned out (have to let it sit overnight to cool and thicken) but the scrubs and face mask look great! I haven't had a chance to try any yet because the scrubs are Christmas gifts. I will post recipes tomorrow when I post about my soap!

  1. Hi. I linked over from a post that you commented on. You mentioned that you've been making soy candles so I wonder if you could help me...
I tried making some, but the wax was too dense and as the wick melted the wax, it didn't burn up quickly enough. So the melted wax just kept putting out the flame. Then I had to pour out the melted wax to light it again. I ended up with a tunnel down the middle. I tried whipping the wax but that was a massive fail! Does the same thing happen with soy wax? Or do they burn cleanly? Thanks!

  2. I have never had that happen with soy wax- is the container too big? If not, it might be the type of soy wax. I use the GW464 soy wax from Wick's End in Pataskala, OH. I looked on the site but can't find where to order some, but it looks like you can get some on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Natural-Soy-464-Wax-pound/dp/B001QMZCFE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1321985572&sr=8-1
All of my soy wax has always burned completely level. Hope this helps- let me know!!!
